Nissan will now match MG and Mitsubishi with a 10-year warranty, and exceeds them with 300,000km of coverage, but there is a catch.
Nissan Australia has matched Mitsubishi and MG in offering Australia’s longest new-car warranty at 10 years – an initiative more than a year in the making and well before talks of a global tie-up with Honda began.
Of note, Nissan’s assurance period – like Mitsubishi’s – is conditional on servicing with the brand, rather than MG’s warranty that only requires scheduled log-book maintenance “using materials that meet … engineering specifications”.
However, Nissan’s new warranty extends to 300,000 kilometres, exceeding the 200,000km and 250,000km offered by Mitsubishi and MG respectively.
